What is Chinese Medicine?
Chinese Medicine has its roots in ancient history. The earliest recorded writings are Shang Dynasty (1600 – 1027 BCE) Oracle Bones. Many of these bones dealt with disease and treatment as well as divination. The Ma Wang Dui Tombs were excavated between 1972 - 1974 and these provided more information about Chinese Medicine prior to 186 BCE.
Since these early times, Chinese Medicine has evolved and become what it is today – an effective form of medical treatment. Chinese Medicine theory focuses on the flow of QI throughout the body, the organs and their relationships with each other and with the QI flowing through the body. It aims to provide phyisical, mental and emotional balance. Homeostasis in other words, the perfect balance. When there is harmony within the body, we can maintain health.
Using the different modalities in Chinese Medicine, we work to restore and maintain the bodies balance.
